Dave and Coax

Born in Fairdale, Kentucky
Living his adult life in Okolona, Kentucky
Dave became a Amateur Radio Operator
when he was 15
His first call was KA4VPT and later became
N4PBV.
At 13 started his electronics schooling and finished with 1340 hours
Our first computer was a "4K Radio Shack Color Computer"
and he was hooked. He stacked chips to make it 16K WOW!
Keeping his interest in computers, He later went on to become
a Technician and Computer Consultant for the University Of Louisville
in Louisville, Kentucky. A job he dearly loved, he always said
"No One Should Be Paid For Having This Much Fun".
He always got a kick out of helping people with their computer Woes.
Dave was also a very accomplished
Locksmith.
He started this by going with me on service
calls, when he was about 10 years old.
After High School (DeSales), he went to work for Schiller Hardware
as a Locksmith and later to the University Of Louisville as
a Locksmith for about 13 yrs. And was President
of The Central States Locksmith Association for I think 2 yrs.
Then transferred to the
Arts and Sciences Dept. as Computer Consultant.
For a total of over 20 years at U of L
Four close friends in his life were:
Stew Haag W4MO,
Kenny Hobbs, Perry Finley, and
Cheryl Capito, his fiancée at the time of his passing.
The love of his life who he met while at U of L.
When he would say "I got to get away
for a little while".
I would know, he's coming to Florida to get some of Angelo's Garlic Knots
and some of Patricia's, (his Step-Mom), baby back
ribs.
The hard thing was keeping him away from my computer, he thought
it needed updating or there was this neat little program I needed.
Of course he was right, as always!
And with 3 or 4 phone calls a day,
he love his internet phone,
to me and our good friend Stew Haag W4MO, the phone now seems so quiet.

David.…
loved life
loved to laugh
had a contagious smile and a laugh that came from the heart
never met a stranger
was a compassionate, caring, loving person
he had an intense personality
was not a selfish person yet he was not a patient person. His way was the right way. Even if it was wrong, he would argue for hours to convince you differently. Yet David knew he was stubborn. AND GOT IT HONESTLY
He was a
strong man yet he had a fragile heart.
David woke up every morning at 4:00 and always jumped out of bed like it was Christmas. Ready to start the day and see what adventures he could find.
David’s favorite words- Goodwill, Yard Sales, Surplus and EBAY.
He loved to jet ski, swim, motor scooter and loved to have cookouts.
He loved to cook and bake homemade bread.
He dearly loved his daughter Sara; has always and will always want the best for her.
He loved to go camping.
He loved to go to the Hamfest with Stew and Perry and talk shop with his dad.
He loved his mother’s homemade carrot cake and was always grateful to Hyman for taking such good care of his mother.
He made frequent visits to Florida to see his dad (now there’s two peas in a pod) and his step mom, Patricia would spoil him with his favorite meals…boy did he loved those ribs!
He loved
to go boating with Kenny, Olivia, Felicia and Sara although hadn’t made
time for it in recent years.
David was a jack of all trades – computers, technology and locksmithing
David took nothing at face value. He just knew he could MODIFY anything! Yeah babeee…even the spud gun!
David loved a bargain. He even picked up me at Surplus!!
We find comfort in knowing that David is now with his sister Stacey that passed away in December 04. David and Stacey are probably settling their differences and will take care of each other for eternal life. Don’t be afraid if we have some great thunderstorms in the near future. It’s probably just David and Stacey being brother and sister.
David touched many lives and we will truly miss him.
words to "I Can See Clearly Now"
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
Oh yes I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I’ve been prayin’ for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
Look all around, there’s nothin’ but blue skies
Look straight ahead, there’s nothin’ but blue skies
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Here is the rainbow I’ve been prayin’ for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
